When a rich, single young man comes to live in the neighbourhood Mrs Bennet is very pleased. She is sure that he will marry one of her five daughters. Mr Bingley is indeed soon attracted to Jane, the eldest Misss Bennet, and his very rich friend, Mr Darcy, is also attracted to the lively Elizabetj, even though her rank in society is lower than his own. But Elizabeth does not like him at all - she finds him far too proud.
